Overall well being

I started working with Danielle over 8 years ago when she taught at Cara Reeser’s
studio, Pilates Aligned. At 66, I attribute much of my strength, agility, and ability to
stay on top of my aches and pains to my work with her. She is kind and amazingly
thoughtful about individualizing her approach to the needs of each client while still
mixing it up week to week. I love that she is always reading and participating in
educational programs with world renown people in Pilates and readily incorporates
what she learns into her personal practice and teaching.
I am always better body and
soul for the time spent with her each week.

Car accident

If you are looking for a change in your fitness routine, or maybe trying to rehabilitate an injury, or even just want to learn more about your body and how you move through life’s obstacles, I would highly recommend Danielle Dugas doing business as “Align-It”.  I am 57 years old male and came to Pilates in 2018 as a way to recover from an automobile accident.  As a result of the pandemic, the Pilates world shrank a bit and I found myself needing a new instructor.  I was looking for someone with a classical Pilates foundation and I was led to Danielle via recommendation.  I have been working weekly with Danielle since January 2022 and have been very pleased with my progression.  I feel like Danielle promotes a very open and collaborative environment and we discuss aches and pains during each session.  Her feedback from her life experiences allows her to be compassionate while assessing my progress and or limitations.  I have some Pilates equipment in my home and she has shown me several new and very helpful things as my journey has progressed.  In all, I know my body continues to change for the better and I believe the knowledge that Danielle is able to contribute is a huge benefit to me.

Hip replacement
I’m a 59 year old woman with arthritis and history of a hip replacement.  During physical therapy for my joint replacement 3 years ago, I learned that Pilates would be key to preventing such an injury in my future.  I had already been introduced to Pilates with a trainer; however, the private lessons with Danielle were much different.  Her attention to educating me about my body and how the muscles work gave me the confidence to strengthen myself in ways I never thought possible.  I’m continually impressed with her knowledge.  In my mostly virtual lessons, she can see small muscle movements and lack thereof.  She has taught me to prevent aches and pains with some personalized exercises so much so that now I feel little need for the massages I had regularly required.  I feel strong and much more aware of the things I do that both help and hurt my body.  Danielle has taught me to be gentle to myself too.  On days after travel or days filled with tension from daily stressors, the daily routine I’ve learned helps me to stay moving.  All in all, I’d recommend a lesson with Danielle to anyone wanting to maintain a healthy body regardless of prior injuries or limitations.

Danielle Dugas is an excellent Pilates instructor. She is intelligent, well-trained, pleasant, and fun to work with.
I am a larger-than-average woman in my early 60s, with Psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have been seeing Danielle for private lessons twice a week, for six years. I honestly believe that working with her has enabled me to greatly improve my health and energy levels. Danielle has taught me so much about my body and how all the parts work together. She is teaching me how to take care of and support my body outside of lesson times, too. One of my favorite terms she has taught me is “restorative Pilates.” I had been worried about when I hurt my knee, or sprained my ankle, that I might have to stop lessons until I had healed completely. Danielle has helped me to continue to work on the areas that are not currently hurting, while slowly working up to bringing the hurt area into better health. So, rather than coming to a halt because a part of my body isn’t doing well, she helps me restore my entire body to its previous level of health, through Pilates.
I recommend Danielle to anyone who is ready to improve their body, mind, and health through Pilates.
